Qualifications:

Ideal candidates for the Warranty Manager position should have some knowledge of residential construction practices, but most importantly, they should possess customer service skills and an eagerness to pursue continued personal growth with a strong team mentality. Responsibilities will include customer service appointments, warranty task management, punch out work, on-call duties with rare after-hour activity, and assisting the Quality Assurance Manager with the completion of homes.

 

Key Results Areas

-Manage year-end warranty lists within guidelines set forth in the warranty manual.

-Coordinate with homeowners and subcontractors to ensure all items are completed within 14-28 days.

-Personally complete minor items as needed and paint drywall repairs.

-Receive homeowner signature acknowledging completion.

-Respond to any urgent warranty requests and ensure concerns are remedied promptly (minor leaks, cooling failure, or similar).

-On-call for homeowner emergencies (total loss of heat, total loss of power (not outage), gas leak, total sewer backup, major water leaks). Ensure life and safety concerns are addressed immediately and take steps to minimize damage. Facilitate proper repairs as soon as reasonably possible.

-Maintain and file any records related to warranty.

-Report to Quality Assurance Manager

-Assist with Homeowner Orientations as needed

-Assist with Quality Control item completion

-Provide vacation coverage for Quality Assurance Manager

The professional will review drawings and specifications, perform analysis, make recommendations, educate other professionals, inspect construction, and test buildings. Work includes performing ratings under green building certification programs including the Home Energy Rating System (HERS), ENERGY STAR, LEED, Enterprise Green Communities, National Green Building Standard, and net-zero-energy standards, as well as local codes and incentive programs.

This position will have the opportunity to collaborate with industry experts and clients to deliver innovative solutions for sustainable residential buildings. This work addresses design, construction, and operations best practices. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Articulate building science principles and green building program requirements to building owners, designers (architects and engineers), and construction trades in the field.

Physical Demands

Building off the analytical base, the team communicates program requirements and policies through program documents, training materials, presentations (in-person and virtual), and answering partner questions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting sustainable design practices (e.g., ENERGY STAR, LEED)
  • Assessing and summarizing model energy codes and standards (e.g., IECC, ASHRAE, RESNET)
  • Performing in-depth analysis using spreadsheets, databases and Visual Basic functions
