Announcing Open Position: CEO, EEBA -- Energy & Environmental Building Alliance

EEBA CEOThe EEBA Board of Directors seeks to fill the new position of Chief Executive Officer for 37-year-old non-profit organization, a pioneer in energy efficient and environmentally responsible residential construction.

ABOUT EEBA: For over 30 years, EEBA has maintained a reputable foundation as the leading resource for information and education for sustainable building. Today, EEBA is the only community specifically designed to help high performance builders thrive, which happens through peer networking, technical training courses and conferences which provide an overarching framework of principles, issues, technologies and history of the sustainable building movement.

EEBA VISION STATEMENT: Making healthy, safe, durable resource-efficient & smart-grid friendly homes mainstream.

EEBA MISSION STATEMENT: To advance and disseminate building science knowledge in the residential new construction community via education and collaboration.

POSITION: Chief Executive Officer

REPORTS TO: Board of Directors


  1. The CEO will be responsible for working closely with the Board of Directors to carry out the EEBA mission while working to achieve the vision; for serving as a spokesperson for sustainable construction in various public forums; and for leading a high performing, financially stable organization.
  2. Maximize engagement of current EEBA partners, expand sponsorships to shore up EEBA revenues and develop new, recurring revenue streams to ensure the financial health of the organization.
  3. Develop and execute the approved business plan of EEBA, exercising fiscal discipline over the use of financial resources.
  4. Attract, retain and develop high performing professional staff to execute the Alliance’s objectives and strategy.

The ideal candidate will have, at a minimum:

  • 7+ years’ experience in the construction industry, focus on sustainability/high performance houses/materials/methodologies
  • 7+ years developing/maintaining strong relationships
  • Experience with strategic thinking, program development and management
  • Sales success/organizational growth


COMPENSATION RANGE: Base Salary $100,000-$125,000, Bonus incentives available.

POSITION OPENING AND CLOSING DATES: November 1 – December 2, 2019
